Coosa County Sheriff’s Office details weekly arrests and incident responses

The Coosa County Sheriff’s Office reported a total jail population of 43 inmates as of November 9, 2025, consisting of 35 males and 8 females. During the week of November 3 to November 9, deputies made several arrests and responded to multiple calls for service across the county.

On November 3, Deputy Moeser arrested Deque Manuel Carter from Vincent, Alabama on four counts of failure to appear in court. Carter was processed at the Coosa County Jail and later released on a court order.

On November 4, Lt. Moon arrested Dylan Jakob Hay from Sylacauga, Alabama for probation violation. Hay was also processed at the jail and released on a court order.

On November 7, Deputy Brown arrested Joshua Glenn Saffold from Goodwater, Alabama on a charge of reckless endangerment. Saffold was held at the jail with a $2,500 bond.

Deputies responded to various incidents throughout the county during this period. In Weogufka on November 7, they investigated a theft of property case that remains under investigation.

In Stewartville, deputies addressed animal complaints and assisted citizens along US Highway 231 between November 3 and November 6. On November 8, they took another theft report on Ham Road which is still being investigated.

Hanover saw reports related to theft of property and disabled motorists along Coosa County Road 59 between November 3 and November 7. Deputies also responded to reckless driving reports on US Highway 231 and US Highway 280; one call was transferred to another agency.

In Rockford on November 3 and again on November 6, deputies handled animal complaints and issued a verbal warning for reckless driving after locating the vehicle involved.

Other areas such as Richville, Ray, Equality, Kellyton, Smyrna, Goodwater, and Mt Olive experienced calls ranging from suspicious persons to domestic disputes and property damage. In most cases where no further action was needed or contact could not be made with involved parties or animals reported in complaints.

The sheriff’s office continues its investigations into ongoing cases while providing assistance across communities within Coosa County.
