During the week of February 9 to February 15, 2026, the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office reported a jail population of 40 inmates, consisting of 34 males and six females.
Several arrests were made during this period. On February 9, Chief Hammond arrested Dana Michelle Broom from Enterprise, Alabama on two counts of Failure to Appear in Court. She was booked into the Coosa County Jail without bond. Also on February 9, Untayus Lovell Brown from Alexander City was arrested by Chief Hammond for four counts of Probation Violation and processed with no bond.
On February 12, Deputy Brown arrested Bennie Carl Thomas from Sylacauga for violating a release order; he was also held without bond. That same day, Michael Lee Confer from Rockford was taken into custody by Deputy Brown for Assault in the Third Degree and held on a $2,500 bond. On February 13, Jennifer Ann McFall from Childersburg was arrested by Deputy Brown for Assault in the Third Degree with a $2,500 bond.
Deputies responded to multiple calls across different communities in Coosa County. In Marble Valley on February 10, deputies addressed a domestic dispute on Coosa County Road 56 and filed an informational report. Extra patrols were conducted on Holly Springs Road on February 14 with no incidents found.
In Stewartville, deputies assisted a citizen on Coosa County Road 29 on February 9 and performed extra patrols and responded to another domestic dispute later in the week.
Other incidents included property damage and burglary reports in Mt Olive on February 11; excess trash removal by the Litter Abatement Officer in Keyno; suspicious person checks and noise complaints handled in Goodwater and Kellyton; theft investigations underway in Richville and Rockford; as well as welfare checks, fraud reports, mental health assistance calls, and further extra patrols throughout Rockford.
Equality saw deputies responding to reports of suspicious persons along AL Highway 9 and AL Highway 259 on February 14. In Ray community on February 13th there was also a response to a suspicious person report where no action or report was needed.
The Sheriff’s Office continues its routine patrols while addressing various calls ranging from citizen assists to ongoing investigations into thefts and fraud within the county.
