Coosa County Sheriff’s Office details weekly arrests and service calls

The Coosa County Sheriff’s Office reported a total jail population of 43 inmates as of November 16, 2025, including 34 males and 9 females. Between November 10 and November 16, deputies made several arrests and responded to various service calls throughout the county.

On November 10, Deputy Parker arrested Joseph Lee Lewis from Alexander City on a charge of Failure to Appear in Court. He was processed into the Coosa County Jail with a $500 cash bond. That same day, Deputy Parker also arrested Starla Carol Harry of New Site on the same charge, setting her bond at $1,005.

Deputy Parker arrested Austin Jakobi Adair from Kellyton on November 12 for Attempting to Elude a Police Officer. Adair was held on a $2,500 bond. On November 13, Deputy Kelley took Darrin NMN Kelly of Goodwater into custody for Driving Under the Influence; his bond was set at $2,000.

Deputies responded to multiple calls for service during this period across different communities:

– In Marble Valley on November 15, deputies investigated a report of theft on Holly Springs Road.
– In Stewartville, deputies conducted business checks and responded to reports ranging from reckless driving to property damage along US Highway 231 and Coosa County Road 150.
– In Weogufka and Equality, deputies were dispatched following reports of reckless drivers or suspicious persons but did not locate any suspects.
– Hanover saw responses for incidents such as locked vehicles on US Highway 280 (where deputies assisted motorists), criminal mischief, harassment by communications, and reports involving suspicious individuals.
– In Mt Olive and Richville, deputies addressed domestic disputes; some resulted in reports being taken while others did not lead to contact with involved parties.
– Keyno had an incident where a suspicious person received a verbal warning after being located by deputies.
– In Kellyton and Rockford, deputies checked businesses and responded to alarms—several determined to be false—as well as welfare checks and lost property cases.
– Additional calls included thefts in Cottage Grove/Hissop and Ray (some under investigation), citizen assists in Hissop, residential alarms at Lake Mitchell (all found false), among other routine patrol activities.

The Sheriff’s Office continues its regular law enforcement activities throughout Coosa County during this reporting period.
