The Coosa County Sheriff’s Office reported a total jail population of 42 inmates, consisting of 32 males and 10 females, as of October 26, 2025. The weekly report covers arrests and calls for service from October 20 to October 26.
During this period, five individuals were arrested on various charges. On October 21, Deputy Kelley arrested Marshall Lee Herring of Goodwater for Failure to Appear in Court. Herring was processed with a $533 cash bond. On October 22, Deputy Brown arrested Justin Wade Ward of Alabaster on the same charge, with a $500 cash bond.
On October 24, Chief Hammond arrested William Todd Dobbs of Alexander City on a Bondman’s Process charge; his bond was set at $2,000. That same day, Deputy Moeser made two arrests: Jason Randy Adair of Sylacauga was charged with Domestic Violence in the Third Degree and Violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order and received a $25,000 bond; Rachel Blackwelder Adair, also from Sylacauga, was charged with Domestic Violence in the Third Degree and given a $2,500 bond.
Deputies responded to multiple calls across the county. In Marble Valley on October 24, they took reports for menacing and animal complaints. In Stewartville throughout the week, deputies addressed harassment by communications, assisted citizens and motorists on US Highway 231 and other roads, investigated suspicious vehicles or persons (with negative contact), and took reports related to criminal mischief and harassment.
In Weogufka on October 20th and later dates, deputies investigated burglary reports (case under investigation), harassment by communications (negative contact), suspicious vehicles (negative contact), and assisted citizens with animal complaints.
Hanover saw responses to animal complaints (some animals not located), noise complaints (source not found), vehicle damage reports (report taken), incidents involving juveniles (case under investigation), as well as checks on suspicious vehicles.
Other areas such as Mt Olive, Goodwater, Kellyton, Rockford, Speed, Cottage Grove/Hissop, Equality, Ray, Lake Martin, and Smyrna had deputies dispatched for citizen assists—often resulting in assistance without incident—as well as reports involving unwanted persons or disabled motorists.
Several cases remain under investigation or were documented for information purposes only during this reporting period.
