During the week of December 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026, the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office reported a total jail population of 41 inmates, consisting of 32 males and 9 females.

Several arrests were made during this period. On December 29, Deputy Kelley arrested Christopher Michael Palmer from Weogufka, Alabama on a charge of domestic violence in the third degree. Palmer was booked into the Coosa County Jail with a $2,500 bond.

On December 30, Sgt. Ward arrested Robert Lee Eslinger Jr. from Childersburg for harassment (simple assault), who was held on a $500 bond. The same day, Sgt. Ward also arrested Kamron Jamar Sandlin from Anniston for possession of marijuana in the second degree; Sandlin’s bond was set at $2,500.

Deputy Kelley arrested Demetrius Ladell Norwood Jr., a resident of Munford, on charges including possession of marijuana in the second degree and speeding less than 25 mph over the limit. Norwood Jr.’s bond was set at $3,000.

Lt. Moon arrested Barbara Lee Watkins from Goodwater on December 30 for chemical endangerment of a child; her bond was set at $7,500.

On January 3, Deputy Kelley arrested Keyundra Williams from Sylacauga for two counts of failure to appear in court; Williams received an $836 cash bond. That same day, Rose Marie Harrison Josey from Talladega was charged with possession of a controlled substance as well as possession of marijuana (second degree) and drug paraphernalia (first offense). Her bond totaled $10,000.

Christopher Wayne Gordy from Oxford was also arrested by Deputy Kelley on January 3 for multiple offenses: possession of a controlled substance and marijuana (second degree), drug paraphernalia (first offense), and giving false identification to law enforcement officers; his bond amounted to $12,500.

Deputy Moeser arrested Dustin Harrison Goodwin from Sterrett on January 3 for disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace with a $500 bond.

In addition to these arrests, deputies responded to various calls across Coosa County communities such as Stewartville and Hanover involving reports ranging from reckless driving and harassment to animal complaints and suspicious vehicles. Some incidents resulted in reports being filed or cases opened for further investigation—for example: deputies investigated theft of property reported on McClellan Road in Kellyton and burglary reported on Coosa County Road 1 in Richville during this week.

Other responses included assisting motorists with disabled vehicles without incident and addressing noise complaints or unwanted persons where no further action was required by law enforcement.
