FOIA Request to Central Alabama Community College Regarding Chinese National Students on May 16, 2025.
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, EC Alabama News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Central Alabama Community College. The request seeks detailed information about Chinese National students currently enrolled at the institution.
Specifically, we have requested documents or lists that identify all current students who are Chinese Nationals, including their department of study. If this information is protected, we have asked for the total number of such students and a breakdown by department. Additionally, we seek details on scholarships awarded to these students, including the amount and source of each scholarship. We are particularly interested in identifying any scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.
Furthermore, we have requested any policies or procedures that describe how the university monitors students, including Chinese Nationals, to protect its Intellectual Property and other confidential information.
