Join the ArtPlay Birthday Bash on Sept. 24 for family fun this fall

Celebrate art for all ages at the ArtPlay Birthday Bash, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus.

The party, at the historic ArtPlay House, will feature a variety of fun activities for families, including sample classes and an opportunity to create works of art. Attendees will enjoy music and have the chance to make new friends.

ArtPlay presents “Alice’s Even Bigger Tea Party”

Curiouser and curiouser is the world of Lewis Carroll’s Alice from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” Join an amazing cast of characters as they explore the mad world of the Mad Hatter, the frenzied life of the White Rabbit and the headstrong diva that is the Queen of Hearts. Alice has a lot of questions and a wonderland to discover. “Alice’s Even Bigger Tea Party” is presented by ArtPlay. Shows are at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sept. 25, UAB’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 children age 3 and under. Call 205-975-2787 or visit alysstephens.org.

ArtPlay Community Art Education is at the root of UAB Arts’ mission to make the arts accessible to the broadest possible audience and cultivate an understanding of and appreciation for the arts. ArtPlay held its first classes in 2011. The organization provides lifelong learning through the arts to all ages, skill levels, incomes and geographical areas through free and fee-based classes, events, performances and exhibits.
