Mike Rogers, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 3rd district since 2003, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing local infrastructure and national history.

On September 16, 2025, Rogers shared his attendance at a local event: “The Auburn University Regional Airport has been in dire need of an Air Traffic Control Tower for several years. I was very excited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for this new tower after several years of hard work!”

A day later, he marked Constitution Day by reflecting on its historical significance. On September 17, 2025, Rogers wrote: “On this day in 1787, 39 of our nation’s founders signed our Constitution and proposed it to the states for ratification. These men came together despite their differences for the love of their country and fellow men. Today, I think their lasting example is more important than”

Later that same day, Rogers commented on an educational issue related to Auburn University: “The glorification of political violence has no place in the classroom. A professor’s job is to teach their pupils, not drive them toward dangerous rhetoric. This was totally the right call by Auburn.”

Rogers has served as Alabama’s 3rd District representative in Congress since replacing Bob Riley in 2003. Before his congressional service, he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002 and previously served on the Calhoun County Commission between 1987 and 1990. Born in Hammond, Indiana in 1958 and currently residing in Weaver, Rogers holds a BA from Jacksonville State University (1981) and a JD from Birmingham School of Law (1991).
