Mike Rogers, a U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 3rd district since 2003, posted a series of updates on his social media account on September 10, 2025, covering local sports, national security, and an expression of sympathy.

In the first post at 14:01 UTC, Rogers shared his enthusiasm for a local event: “Sylacauga Aggies’ own will be on CBS primetime tonight and I am excited to tune in!”.

Later that day at 19:21 UTC, he highlighted a meeting with military leadership regarding national defense initiatives: “Loved meeting with the Space Command Commander, General Whiting, this morning to discuss the process of getting SPACECOM established in Huntsville as soon as possible!”.

Shortly after at 19:30 UTC, Rogers addressed recent violence affecting a public figure: “I am heartbroken for Charlie Kirk and his family following this senseless act of political violence. Please join me in lifting them up in prayer today.”

Rogers has served in Congress since replacing Bob Riley in 2003 and previously held positions in both the Alabama House of Representatives and the Calhoun County Commission. He was born in Hammond, Indiana in 1958 and currently resides in Weaver. His educational background includes a BA from Jacksonville State University (1981) and a JD from Birmingham School of Law (1991).
