Mike Rogers, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 3rd district since 2003, has recently highlighted his legislative activities and community engagement in a series of social media posts.
On February 3, 2026, Rogers announced the passage of a government funding bill in the House that includes significant resources for his state. He stated, “The Republican government funding bill passed in the House today contained over $200 million in funding for Alabama! I was proud to support it, and I will be even prouder to see these necessary investments coming to our communities. I look forward to President Trump signing it”.
The following day, on February 4, Rogers reiterated his commitment to public safety by meeting with local law enforcement officials. In his words: “Support for local law enforcement is a fundamental value of mine because safe communities are prosperous communities. I was excited to meet with local sheriffs to discuss what I can do to remain their staunchest ally in Washington.”
Continuing his outreach efforts on February 5, Rogers addressed rural infrastructure needs by engaging with water service representatives. He wrote: “I met with Alabama Rural Water Association to ensure I am doing everything in my power to ensure our rural communities can keep the water running.”
Rogers has served as Alabama’s 3rd District representative since replacing Bob Riley in Congress in 2003. Before joining Congress, he served both on the Calhoun County Commission and in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1994 until 2002. Born in Hammond, Indiana in 1958 and currently residing in Weaver at age 64, Rogers holds degrees from Jacksonville State University (BA) and Birmingham School of Law (JD).
