Mike Rogers, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 3rd district and Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, recently posted a series of tweets highlighting developments in national defense legislation and expressing optimism about ongoing initiatives.
On December 10, 2025, Rogers shared a brief message on social media: “See, I told you we’d be fine.”
Two days later, on December 12, 2025, Rogers addressed the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), stating: “This year’s NDAA addresses critical readiness concerns and further cements Alabama’s place as the national leader in defense. I couldn’t be prouder of it, and I’m excited to see it become law.”
Later that same day, Rogers made another post referencing his role as chairman: “As @HASCRepublicans Chairman, I just hope both teams have fun!”
Rogers has served in Congress since 2003 after succeeding Bob Riley. He previously held positions in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002 and on the Calhoun County Commission from 1987 to 1990. Born in Hammond, Indiana in 1958 and currently residing in Weaver, Rogers graduated from Jacksonville State University with a BA in 1981 and earned his JD from Birmingham School of Law in 1991.
