Calhoun County issued the following announcement on March 11.

A Calhoun County Board of Commissioners will take place at 7 p.m., March 17 in Council Chambers. For those unable to join us in public, the meeting is also live-streamed to the County Youtube Channel.

Notice of the Public Hearing
Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Calhoun County Building at 315 West Green Street, Marshall, Michigan 49068, the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings regarding the County’s proposed grant applications to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.

One grant proposes to develop the Ott Biological Preserve Trailhead at Olive Street and Arlington Avenue in Emmett Township. The grant includes a new accessible bathroom, drinking water access, parking renovations, a picnic area, and landscaping.

Calhoun County is also proposing to acquire a 145-acre property owned by Harper Creek School District. The property contains an easement for 1.2 miles of the Calhoun County Trail and shares a boundary with Kimball Pines Park.
