U.S. Representative Mike Rogers has announced an invitation for high school students in Alabama’s Third Congressional District to participate in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. The annual event gives students a chance to display their artwork in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. This year’s theme is “America’s 250th Birthday.” Students can submit their artwork between April 14 and April 17, with additional guidelines available on Rep. Rogers’ website.
“I am excited to invite local high schoolers in Alabama’s Third District to participate in the annual Congressional Art Competition,” said Rep. Rogers. “This competition is a tremendous opportunity for students to have their artwork hung in the U.S. Capitol for visitors from around the world to see. Every year, the talent exhibited by our students is incredibly impressive, and I’m sure this year will be especially competitive with our country celebrating its 250th year. Interested students should visit my website or call my Oxford office to receive more details.”
Mike Rogers has represented Alabama’s 3rd district in Congress since 2003, succeeding Bob Riley (https://www.house.gov/representatives). Before his time in Congress, he served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002 and on the Calhoun County Commission from 1987 to 1990 (https://rogers.house.gov/about). Born in Hammond, Indiana, in 1958, Rogers now lives in Weaver and holds degrees from Jacksonville State University and Birmingham School of Law.
