On June 20, 2022 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Calhoun County Sheriff Deputies responded to a burglar alarm at Bellar’s Mart at 504 Upton Ave in the City of Springfield.

Upon arrival to the business, deputies concluded the business had been broken into and an investigation began immediately. The interior of the business was searched but no one was located.

With the help of Michigan State Police’s K9 Team, Sheriff’s Office Deputies canvassed the area in the attempt to locate any suspects or evidence pertaining to this case. The MSP K9 was unable to locate a “track” on the suspect(s) who possibly fled the area in an unknown vehicle.

The security cameras in the store showed one male inside the store at the time the burglar alarm was activated, although there is believed to be two males involved.

The suspects stole an abundance of cigarettes, alcohol, and money, including the cash register.
