Men's Basketball releases full 2022-23 schedule

The reigning ASUN Conference champion Jacksonville State men's basketball program has announced its full 2022-23 schedule on Thursday as team enter preseason workouts for the upcoming year. .

 

The Gamecocks will play in front of the Pete Mathews Coliseum crowd 15 times counting a preseason exhibition with Auburn-Montgomery on November. 3. Nine of the home matchups will be part of the previously released conference schedule. Jax State will also host Elon (Nov. 22) and Little Rock (Dec. 17) for return games after making those road visits a season ago.

 

The season officially kicks off Nov. 7 with the season-opener at home against Shorter University in a flashback to Ray Harper's first-ever game on the sidelines at JSU when the two schools met for the 2016 preseason exhibition. From there, Jax State hits the road for the first time to visit the UIC (Illinois-Chicago) Flames one week later on Nov. 14.

 

UIC marks the first of five first-time matchups during the non-conference schedule. Jax State will meet New Mexico and North Dakota State over the Thanksgiving break in Albuquerque, N.M., before road trips to East Tennessee State and Utah in early December.

 

The non-conference portion will end on Tuesday, Dec. 27 with a matchup against Georgia Southwestern, before opening ASUN play that Friday, Dec. 30 against North Alabama at The Pete.

 

In league action, JSU welcomes UNA, Bellarmine, North Florida, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, Austin Peay, Kennesaw State, Liberty and ASUN-newcomer, Queens to Jacksonville.

 

Season tickets for JSU men's basketball go on sale Monday, Oct. 3. Gamecock fans can go online to JSUGamecockSports.com or call the ticket office during normal business hours at 256-782-8499.
