JSU Honored for Leadership in Student Persistence

JSU joined more than 50 colleges and universities in New York City this week for the inaugural PERSIST Summit focused on student success and retention.

Hosted by EdSights, the event introduced the PERSIST Awards, recognizing leading institutions that have adopted and implemented innovative and effective approaches to address the student completion crisis. JSU was one of three universities honored, receiving the Leadership in Persistence award.

According to an EdSights press release, "JSU has successfully incorporated risk factors from EdSights into their processes to improve how their team leverages their EAB Navigate system to identify and engage students who are struggling with factors such as mental health, financial insecurity and engagement."

The award was accepted on behalf of the university by Kimberly Hudgins, coordinator of student success technology. Students who need help with their studies should contact the Student Success Center
