Following back-to back road contests, the Jacksonville State men's basketball team returns to Pete Mathews Coliseum to host Elon on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
The Gamecocks (1-2) look to bounce back following a tough setback at Alabama on Friday night. The matchup with Elon (1-4) is a return game after the two sides met last November in Elon, N.C. That game was made historic by former Gamecock Jalen Gibbs' 40-point day that set a new JSU Division I school record.
The visiting Phoenix hail from the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA), where the Gamecocks have found success as of late. Jax State defeated both CAA opponents last season in Elon and Drexel, and haven't lost to a member of the league since a 59-56 loss to William & Mary on Dec. 1, 2006.
Amanze Ngumezi and Skyelar Potter lead the Gamecocks offensively after three games averaging 13 points apiece. On the glass, Clarence "Monzy" Jackson and Juwan Perdue continue to control the paint with team bests 21 and 14 rebounds.
Tuesday's game will tip at approximately 6 p.m. following JSU's women's game against Life University. ESPN+ video and live stat links are available at JSUGamecockSports.com.
Following Tuesday's game, Jax State will depart the next day for Albuquerque, N.M., for the Lobo Classic hosted by the University of New Mexico. JSU will face UNM, Northern Colorado and North Dakota State on three consecutive days Nov. 25-27. The Gamecocks will be back at The Pete for four games during the month of December.
