The University of Alabama at Birmingham Campus Recreation Center is providing child care opportunities during summer 2023. UAB summer camps will provide a fun, educational experience while school is not in session. Each week will feature a different theme and will present fun and unique ways to get all the little Blazer campers active this summer.

Children will have the opportunity to explore adventure sports, create exciting crafts, dive into aquatic activities or participate in the various other activities that the UAB Campus Recreation has to offer — all under one roof. Camps begin the week of May 29 and run through the week of Aug. 7. The camp schedule is from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and is available to children 5-12 years of age. Campers will need to provide their own lunch. Registration opens Feb. 6.

The cost per full week for UAB affiliates is $175 per child, and $195 for non-UAB affiliates. The cost for a prorated week for UAB affiliates is $140 per child, and $160 for non-UAB affiliates. There are also before- and after-care options available at an additional cost of $5 each per day.

A 25 percent deposit is required to hold any spot in camps. An enrollment form must be fully completed and signed to register and make the deposit. Spots are not reserved until payment is collected. The payment may be processed in person or over the phone at 205-996-5038. Enrollment forms can be found here. All completed forms may be emailed to recmember@uab.edu or dropped off in person at the Membership Services desk during normal operating hours.

For more information on the summer 2023 camps, contact the membership staff at 205-996-5038 or recmember@uab.edu.
