There were 15 businesses registered in cities across Bullock County during Q1

There were 15 businesses that registered in cities within Bullock County during the first quarter of 2023, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 67 percent more than the quarter before, when nine businesses were registered.

Union Springs registered the most businesses in Bullock County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
