Four businesses registered in three cities found within Coosa County during February

There were four businesses that registered in cities within Coosa County during February, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 33 percent more than the month before, when three businesses were registered.

Goodwater registered the most businesses in Coosa County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
