7% of Calhoun County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Calhoun County recorded an unemployment rate of 7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 3,702 people out of the 116,425 living in Calhoun County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Calhoun County has decreased compared to the 7.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Calhoun County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.4%.

Of the 49,445 people who had a job during that time, 372 were employed in the Armed Forces and 49,073 belonged to the civilian labor force.
