Washington, D.C. — U.S. Representatives Mike Rogers (R-AL) and Adam Smith (D-WA), Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, along with other committee members, recently concluded a congressional delegation to Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan. The purpose of the visit was to engage in crucial discussions with key officials from these countries and strengthen partnerships in the region.

During the delegation, Representative Rogers emphasized the significance of cooperation among the United States, its allies, and partners to prevent regional conflicts from escalating. He highlighted the importance of open dialogues to secure shared interests and foster enduring relationships, especially in times of disagreement but common aspirations for stability and prosperity.

Reflecting on their interactions with U.S. service members and civilian personnel in the region, Representative Smith expressed gratitude for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding national defense and security, acknowledging their selfless efforts in maintaining the country’s safety.

One of the key topics addressed during the delegation was the importance of Israel's right to self-defense, with discussions focused on collaborative efforts to bring an end to ongoing conflicts in the region.

In meetings with officials from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, the delegation sought common ground to enhance mutual security and advance shared interests. The representatives were pleased to find areas of agreement with all three countries, particularly in areas such as countering terrorism threats, promoting human rights, supporting modernization reforms, and condemning Russia's actions in Ukraine.
