U.S. Representative Mike Rogers, who serves as the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, has issued a statement on the first anniversary of the Hamas terror attack in Israel. The attack, which took place on October 7th last year, resulted in over 1,000 deaths and hundreds being taken hostage.
Rogers stated, "One year ago today, Iran-backed Hamas terrorists orchestrated a horrific attack on Israel, killing over 1,000 people and taking hundreds hostage."
Reflecting on the past year since the attack, Rogers emphasized ongoing threats: "In the year since the October 7th attack, Iran and their terrorist proxies have continued to attack Israel and U.S. servicemembers." He commended U.S. servicemembers for their efforts: "In the face of these attacks, our brave servicemembers have worked tirelessly to keep our nation safe and to help defend Israel."
Rogers concluded with a call for international remembrance and support: "The world must not forget the horrors that Iran-backed terrorists have inflicted on Israel. We must continue to stand with Israel and support their right to defend their nation."
