The University of Alabama at Birmingham will be holding its spring Service Learning and Undergraduate Research Expo from Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22. The expo, held every semester, showcases the profound research done by UAB students, while celebrating excellence in research, creative activity, scholarship and academic endeavors of undergraduate students.

Participation in the expo strengthens students’ presentation skills and is an opportunity to engage and exchange research experiences and ideas. Participants also receive feedback from both peers and faculty.

Expo dates and events include:

  • April 18: Deadline to upload all research presentations; online judging will begin the same day.
  • April 19: Oral presentations at the Sterne Library from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • April 21: Keynote address at 9 a.m. in Bartow Arena, followed by poster presentations at 12 p.m.

The spring expo will also include video research awards, with first place winning $1,000, and second and third places winning $500 each. The winners will be announced May 2.

The expo is free and open to public. For more information, contact Gareth Jones at ghjones@uab.edu.
